Boston School of Herbal Studies · Lincoln, MA

Spend an afternoon discovering how delicious and beneficial seaweeds are. We'll learn to identify rockweed, bladderwrack, Irish moss, sea lettuce, dulse, red seaweeds and more, and explore their traditional uses in herbalism, their rich mineral and vitamin content, and even their benefits for gardens and plants.

We'll talk about how these ocean plants are harvested, the best times and methods for harvesting, and sample different seaweeds together. I'll demonstrate Irish moss blancmange for everyone to try, show you how to make a seaweed "green juice" with Maine seaweed powder, and teach you to make a furikake-style table spice to take home.

You'll leave with practical skills for bringing seaweed into everyday cooking and simple, nourishing skincare, and a whole new appreciation for what these plants provide.
